OH YA FIXED KARA'S REF JDKSFSHDF!! technically all of chapter 3 she's married to ryoji despite it being rocky! so i decided to keep castora on there, so i know she was married the entire way thru!!

SO LETS TALK ABOUT GRACE!! now i LOVED grace's design when i first designed her, but something always felt... wrong?? off? even tho i loved her design, i couldn't get attached and she fell to the wayside.

i'm coming back much older, stronger, wiser! and i was, admittedly, intimidated by grace! bc i always knew deep down, i didn't handle her the way i wanted to, but didn't know how i WANTED to handle her. she always had a masculine appearance, but kept a feminine name and used she/her pronouns- bc i thought that's what i wanted out of her.

i still dunno what i want for grace- but i know that grace isn't their name anymore. i'm throwing that out with their updated ref! it doesn't feel right at all. which is strange- normally i can settle with a name after, yknow, nearly 10 years. but this one just never did. now that i've come to learn so much about gender identity, i think i found the missing pieces, it's just figuring them out!

thus, i decided i'm going to just design the updated ref. no gender in mind. and let not so grace tell me what they want the most. whether a trans male, nb, or just a plain ol' tomboy! i'll figure it out! i considered trans girl, but no, i feel they want to present more masculine. 

i hope to handle not so grace well. good bye, old grace! the name is cute, but not for you. the chara doesn't change at all with stripping the name and old solid pronouns; they still serve their part in the way that was intended! which is the best part. not so grace's story doesn't hinge on their gender identity at all. simply just doing their job! 

tomorrow i'll line and color them! i still love their colors, truth be told! the hair did get updated, i'm going with that emo bang LOL! maaaaay even bump their age up?
